We're very pleased to be jointly organising an event in London with Think Local Act Personal (TLAP) on Thursday 20th September. The format is of a larger conference event - we expect up to 90 people to attend.
We have a great line-up of speakers: Tom Shakespeare (Professor of Disability Research, University of East Anglia), Frances Hasler (Former co-director of National Centre of Independent Living), Rich Watts (Personalised Care Team at NHS England), Andrew Richardson (Independent Social Worker), John Waters (In Control), Colin Whitehouse (National Pre-Paid Card Network), Les Billingham (Director Adult Services, Thurrock), Chris Watson (Fellow, Centre for Welfare Reform), Rachel Mason (TLAP National Co-production Advisory Group member) and Jenny Hurst (PA Employer and Independent Living Coordinator).
And there'll be a room full of people with a whole range of experiences and skills from people using social and health care to Commissioners, Support Services to Brokers and Trainers, Peer Support groups to Senior Managers in social and health care roles.
If you can't make it then you'll miss a good day! You can still benefit from the information and discussion however, if you join us as a member - the presentations and our report will then be available to you on the member's page. And you can then come to our quarterly meetings, packed with expert presentations, great networking and essential information.
